    Description

This is a mint condition, original U.S. pre-WWII to early WWII cavalry belt hook for a US M1910 canteen cover. This is a hook designed to fit with the US Army mounted M1910 canteen cover, so that the canteen could be attached to a strap on a saddle when the soldier was mounted on horseback. The hook is blackened brass, attached to a heavy khaki cotton web strap that has a cross-strap at the top with grommets for attaching to a belt hook. These are an item that was phased out as the US Army transitioned away from the horse cavalry of earlier times, around 1942. Excellent example of this item, would be hard to improve on. The belt hook is mint, never used, hardware in great shape, clean and crisp. See photos. **********  Guaranteed original U.S. WWII issue, manufactured in 1941 or 1942. The last photo shows how this item was depicted in the US Army Quartermaster Supply Catalog of August, 1943. ************* I can ship worldwide. Buyers pay exact shipping costs only.
