    Description

This is an original US Army WWII Medical Department item, as would have been carried by a WWII Army Combat Medic or by an infantryman as part of a jungle first aid kit. The vial is made of black plastic, it has a screw-on lid. This type of black pill vial was used to carry pills such as Atabrine, salt, or aspirin. These vials were US Army Medical Department Item No. 9961500 and were designated as the Vial, 1/2-oz. They often had a paper label indicating contents but these vials (WWII surplus) have had their labels removed, showing only remnants of glue where the label once was affixed. Jungle First Aid kits contained  these pill vials, used to store and keep dry atabrine (quinacrine) pills for treating malaria. They also were contained in the WWII Combat Medic's bag, of the type carried in pairs attached to a cotton web yoke. ************* The vial is in very good condition, showssome wear, but intact and perfectly serviceable. The lid screws on and off just fine.  **************** I can ship worldwide. Free shipping to a US address. Non-US buyers pay exact shipping costs only.
