Description
Vintage 1984 Ferrari 512 TR Factory Testarossa Plastic Poster Folder. Rare Find.Yes, Plastic!
This 1984 512 TR Factory Testarossa Introduction marketing piece is literally printed on a plastic-like material. The folder was probably printed on a heavy weight stock and then coated with a heavy-duty laminate to give the piece a plastic feel to the touch.
It is truly a Ferrari one-of-a-kind advertising/marketing creation for its time, 39 years ago. This unique folder poster was an interictal part of the 512 TR worldwide introduction in the late 80’s and early 90’s.
The 512 TR plastic poster folder measures 8
¼
inches wide x 11 inches deep and opens to approximately 32
½
inches wide. (See photos).
Because the piece is literally printed on a plastic like material, you can see in the photos there is some chipping in the creases where the piece folds into four panels.
It is 4-colors, 4 panels printed on 2 sides to 32
½
inches long. The marketing piece was used as an insert in Rosso Ferrari Magazine in the 90’s, and in other magazine publications worldwide. This 512 TR piece is in excellent to perfect condition considering its age of 39 years. (See photos).
It is highly unlikely that you will find this Ferrari Factory advertising piece available on the market today. It is truly
a rare
and exclusive Ferrari collectible.
Provenance &
Content Validation:
My agency, Hank Forssberg Inc. Advertising handled the Advertising
and Marketing for Ferrari North America from 1977 through 1995. During that
18-year relationship with Ferrari North America and Ferrari S.p.A., I accumulated
an extensive collection of hundreds of Ferrari collectibles/memorabilia from
Ferrari North America and from the Factory in Maranello, Italy.
I personally
recommended to Ferrari North America Management that they launch the
introduction of the 348 Spider in Beverly Hills, California by closing off
Rodeo Drive and having the first ever Ferrari Concours d’Elegance on Rodeo
Drive as the highlight of the 348 Spider Introduction.
My agency
designed and produced all of the marketing and advertising materials for the
348 Spider Introduction including the Poster, Letterhead and Envelopes,
Invitations, Event Program, Parking Passes, Windshield ID’s, VIP Wrist Bands,
348 Spider Spec. Sheets, Etc.
During my
18-year relationship with Ferrari, I was also the Editor of Rosso Ferrari
Magazine. During my tenure, I edited and
published 9 Issues from 1990 through 1993 including Issue number Eight –
Ferrari Rodeo Drive. As the Editor of Rosso Ferrari Magazine, I commissioned Hector
Luis Bergandi to create Ferrari Car Art Illustrations to be featured in Rosso
Ferrari Issues.
As a result of
my relationship with Mr. Bergandi, I also commissioned him to design a poster
the 348 Spider Rodeo Drive Introduction.
This listing is
only one item from my extensive Ferrari Collection.
I am in the
process of selling my Ferrari memorabilia collection.
For the past 45
years or so, I have kept all my Ferrari collectibles in an Archival Storage
environment in order to preserve as much of their original condition as
possible. All of my Ferrari collectibles are originals and range in condition
from good to excellent to original museum-quality. Thanks for viewing.
